    John Kauffman is a Ph.D. candidate and graduate research assistant in the University of Tennessee Turfgrass Program.

   John's reseach interests include cultural practices and soil fertility of golf and sports turf, turfgrass stress physiology, and influences of maintenance and mowing equipment on turfgrass physiology.

John Kauffman earned his MS degree in Horticulture from the University of Arkansas, studying the effects of hollow-tine aerification and aggressive verticutting on soil physical properties of sand-based creeping bentgrass putting greens.  John also earned his BS degree from the University of Arkansas in Agricultural, Food, and Life Sciences with a concentration in Turfgrass Management.
